We just learned that Patrice Bergeron has (once again!) won the Selke Trophy, awarded to the best defensive forward in the NHL.
He became the most successful player in NHL history to win this award (5 times). Wow!
See the final results and total votes:
As part of his thank you message, the first person Bergeron thanked was: none other than Montreal Canadiens GM Kent Hughes, who is also his former agent.
"...I would like to thank my former agent Kent Hughes..." - Patrice Bergeron on receiving his 5th Selke. My ears thought it was weird.
- Marc-André Perreault, TVA Sports
It says a lot about the relationship between the two men and the impact Hughes had on the Bruins' Quebec forward.
Great class!
