Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens might well announce their first acquisition of the summer as early as today.
As was the case with Philippe Maillet, Montreal could possibly be on the verge of signing an excellent player from the KHL, an attacker with intriguing talent named Maxim Tsyplakov.
Is Maxim Tsyplakov signing with the CH?
The announcement could indeed be made as early as today.
According to what the renowned Elliotte Friedman from Sportsnet reports, the Habs are very interested in acquiring Tsyplakov, who is currently playing with Spartak Moscow in the KHL.
Kent Hughes even met with him personally, so it's serious.
«And the only team Friedman named this morning (saying it had met with the player) is the Canadiens.
You know, that team that needs a boost in attack?» - Via DansLesCoulisses
Stay tuned for updates today!
Tsyplakov, 25 years old, has racked up a very solid 47 points (31 goals and 16 assists) in 65 games this season in the KHL. He is a winger standing 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 190 pounds.
Do you think he could be a good bet for the Canadiens? Teams are constantly in search of the next Artemi Panarin, that very talented player hidden in the KHL, and evidently some clubs seem to have targeted the young Tsyplakov.
