In the last few hours, the Montreal Canadiens made a very nice announcement regarding forward Josh Anderson.
This will boost his morale, after what was surely a very emotional evening last night. We are waiting for details, but it appears that Anderson has unfortunately sustained a very serious injury.
A doctor even believes that his season could possibly be over.
In short, to be continued, but for now the organization has announced this:
"Forward Josh Anderson is the winner of the Molson Cup for the month of December.
Anderson was named the first star of the game once (on December 16 against the Islanders) and the third star of the game on three occasions (on December 4 against Seattle, December 18 at Winnipeg, and December 22 at Chicago). In 13 games in December, the winger led the team with six goals and eight even-strength points, finishing the month with a total of nine points.
A presentation honoring the Molson Cup winner for the month of December will take place before Thursday night's game against the Buffalo Sabres at the Bell Centre."
- Montreal Canadiens
After a very difficult and discouraging start to the season, what a response from Anderson to have such a solid December, wow!
He has clearly been one of the team's best forwards over the past few weeks.
We fervently hope that the injury he sustained last night is not too serious so that he can continue his momentum.
