It's rare that we see this, but we've had a surprise at the NHL waivers in the last few minutes, as a talented young defenseman was made available absolutely free of charge.

Tobias Bjornfot, 22 years old, a first-round pick (22nd overall in 2019) has just been put on waivers by the Los Angeles Kings.

Despite his young age, he already has 117 games of experience in his career in the National Hockey League. He has accumulated 15 points and 26 penalty minutes.

Especially knowing that many teams are looking for good young defensemen, knowing that defenseman Jaycob Megna has just been claimed by Chicago, we should expect that Bjornfot will also be claimed.

One would imagine that Bjornfot's value is well above that of Megna.

He earns $775,000 per season until 2025, which is obviously not expensive.

A file to watch, and we will have the answer tomorrow at 2 pm.

Note that Bjornfot was sent to waivers because the Kings recalled their very promising young defenseman Brandt Clarke.
