We were talking to you a few weeks ago about the transaction announced by the Lions de Trois-Rivières involving Cole Gallant, and well this transaction has just been officially completed and a new giant-sized defenseman is arriving within the organization of the Montreal Canadiens.
He will start with the Lions.
"The Lions de Trois-Rivières have acquired the rights to the giant-sized defenseman, Cory Thomas, from the Utah Grizzlies to complete the trade of Cole Gallant from last October 5." - Lions de Trois-Rivières
That's it! We may possibly see him at the next training camp.
Thomas, 25 years old, is a 6-foot-5-inch, 205-pound defenseman who has amassed 10 points with the Grizzlies, in addition to 48 minutes of penalty time. He is robust and an intriguing defender.
He also played an impressive 134 games in the NCAA, mostly with the University of Vermont.
