Following this announcement, we learned that Kirby Dach will be moved to the wing on the top line, alongside Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield, replacing Slafkovsky.
Martin St-Louis also revealed that young Oliver Kapanen is our new second-line center, and Michael Pezzetta will play his first game of the season tonight against the New York Rangers.
Earlier today, the Canadiens announced that Juraj Slafkovsky will be out for a while, which is obviously unfortunate for Slaff and the Habs.
Given all this, we can see that the Montreal Canadiens now only have 12 healthy forwards in the NHL lineup.
This is clearly not enough, knowing that Martin St-Louis' squad has three more games to play this week and that the team will be hitting the road on Saturday.
Another forward will clearly be brought in for reinforcement, but who?
Will it be Joshua Roy? Will it be Alex Barré-Boulet? Or will the Canadiens do what they have done a few times before, simply bringing in a player like Lucas Condotta as the 13th forward?
What would you do if it were your decision?
Barré-Boulet has 4 points in two games with the Laval Rocket, while Joshua Roy has collected 3 points in four games so far this season with Pascal Vincent's squad.
It's a situation to watch, but a call-up from the Montreal Canadiens is expected, according to some sources.
We'll have to see who will eventually be called up (likely before the road trip to Pennsylvania).
