Last night on Tony Marinaro's podcast, Jeff Gorton, VP of Hockey Operations for the Montreal Canadiens, was his usual self and answered many interesting questions while being very transparent.

He revealed the following about Cole Caufield's upcoming contract:

Also, Gorton was asked about the Tricolore's vision for young forward Kirby Dach. A very interesting segment.

Many fans seem to think that this is not good news, but Gorton clearly mentioned that the organization still considers Kirby Dach to be a center, not a winger.

So we have to forget about the idea of the Tricolore's first trio remaining intact in the long term.

It also means that eventually there will be changes to the starting lineup, Dach will be tried again at center. It also obviously means that, sooner or later, Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield will have a new partner.

Will it be Juraj Slafkovsky? Sean Monahan? Josh Anderson? Mike Hoffman? Another player? Impossible to say at this time, but don't be surprised if this change eventually happens.

Do you agree with the organization on this one? Do you think Kirby Dach is a center, not a winger?

Personally, as long as it works out that well, between Dach, Caufield and Suzuki, we would leave them together, but at the same time, the CH bosses know very well what they are doing.
