Cole Caufield was a crowd favorite in Montreal, even before he played his first game in the NHL. The young scoring prodigy had slipped to 15th overall in the 2019 draft, much to the delight of CH fans.

A guest on Georges Laraque's mic on Monday, Caufield told us more about the reasons for his recent success, including when his host asked him what his goals were, to score 40, 50 goals or make the playoffs :

"I'm moving away from long-term goals, but I still want to get on the scoreboard every game." - Cole Caufield

Cole also talked about how Martin St. Louis has transformed the team. Kirby Dach rounds out the trio very well with Suzuki and #22 is clearly in love with the crowd. He loves playing at the Bell Centre.

In closing, Caufield says he sets small goals for himself over five game periods. He doesn't want to look too far ahead. To hear the sequence with Georges Laraque and the Canadiens' forward, it's here below 👇
