Top Habs Prospect Could Surprise and Crack Canadiens' Lineup This Fall, Says Scout
There should be some interesting battles up front for the Montreal Canadiens at the team's upcoming training camp this September.
Tuch has caught the attention of former Canadiens scout Grant McCagg, particularly due to the way he played in the recent AHL playoffs.
On his account, McCagg didn't hold back in saying that Tuch is an absolute beast and that his playing style is a perfect fit for the NHL playoffs.
Luke Tuch Is a Successful Acquisition for the Montreal Canadiens According to Grant McCagg, Already a Win With the 47th Pick in 2020
Here's his exact comment:
"Luke Tuch has found another gear. He is a beast out there. He may push for a roster spot next Habs camp. Built for playoff hockey"
- Grant McCagg
He added that Alex's brother-who plays for
the Buffalo Sabres could be a surprise at the next Canadiens camp and earn a spot on the main roster.
With the likely departures of Joel Armia and Christian Dvorak, there will definitely be room for a young forward, and Martin St-Louis wouldn't mind adding a player like Tuch to his squad.
A second-round pick by the Canadiens in the 2020 Draft, Luke Tuch played his first full season with
the Laval Rocket in 2024-25.
In 44 games, he recorded six goals and eight assists for 14 points, adding one goal and one assist in the playoffs during the team's run to the Eastern Conference Final.
