The Pittsburgh Penguins are going nowhere. They're no longer the powerhouse they once were and lack promising young talent in their prospect pool. Consequently, there's little positivity in Sidney Crosby's realm.
Believing more and more that #87 might leave the team that drafted him, BPM Sports' noon show hosts, Georges Laraque and Stéphane, along with former NHL player Éric Fichaud, had fun picking a new team for him. The team that came out of the goaltender's mouth is quite surprising but makes a lot of sense at the same time.
Fichaud claims that Boston needs a number one center and that the chemistry between Crosby and Marchand would be excellent. Both players have indeed had great moments with Team Canada, and Crosby has managed to elevate the Bruins' notorious pest to another level.
At 37, Crosby will be entering the last season of his 12-year contract, signed in July 2012, next season. Despite his age, he remains one of the league's top players, with 63 points, including 32 goals (in 60 games) this season.
As the Pens find themselves on the outside looking in at a playoff spot, likely to miss out, rumors are beginning to circulate but obviously all RUMOURS at this point.
