Trade announced by the Montreal Canadiens: David Savard was informed of the trade for Jacob Perreault by Anthony Martineau
We love stories like this.
TVA Sports journalist, Anthony Martineau, outright revealed that he was the one who informed defenseman David Savard of the Canadiens-Ducks trade, involving Jan Mysak and Jacob Perreault.
David Savard hilariously reacted to the trade concluded by Kent Hughes with the Ducks
See Martineau's recent account himself:
Running into David Savard at the very moment I receive the trade announcement.
Me out loud: "Okay. A first trade."
David, hearing this: "Oh yeah? Who?"
-Jan Mysak. For Jacob Perreault.
David: "Things are starting to move. I'm turning off my cell until tomorrow!"

It made us laugh! It must obviously be stressful moments for the veteran defenseman and his family.
David Savard really hopes not to be traded by the Canadiens, and Kent Hughes absolutely does not want to trade him, but if the right offer comes along, he will simply have no choice.
A file to follow closely by tomorrow, 3pm, but we can confidently say that if Savard is traded, we will receive (at the very least) a 1st round pick.
Savard, 33 years old, has amassed 15 points in 40 games this season in Montreal, in addition to maintaining a differential of -5. He earns 3.5 million per year until 2025, but his contribution goes so far beyond the numbers.
The veteran of 775 games brings so much to a club, especially to a young club in need of experience!
