Jason Robertson's name could very well end up on the trade market in the coming weeks-and the Montreal Canadiens might be involved.
At least that's what insider Darren Dreger suggested during his appearance on TSN 690's special Stanley Cup Final broadcast.
According to Dreger, Robertson's status as a pending unrestricted free agent in two years could catch the attention of Kent Hughes, who is actively seeking a high-end top-6 forward.
Robertson is a top-tier player who put up 109 points two seasons ago and has just recorded back-to-back 80-point campaigns.
However, it's safe to assume Stars GM Jim Nill wouldn't let him go for cheap-but we know the Canadiens front office has some interesting assets to pull off a major trade.

That said, Montreal isn't the only team interested in Jason Robertson.
The Boston Bruins are also reportedly keeping an eye on the 25-year-old American forward.
This will definitely be a fascinating situation to watch unfold this summer, but according to Dreger, the Canadiens are one of the few NHL teams with the necessary assets to pull off a potential trade with the Stars involving Robertson.
