Logan Mailloux's Trade Value Skyrockets Ahead of 2025 NHL Draft Due to Multiple Factors, Says Insider

Over the past three years, Kent Hughes has been active, and it's very likely he will be again. In fact, his most valuable trade chip may not be one of his two first-round picks, but rather Logan Mailloux.

As reported by DansLesCoulisses, the Canadiens' 2021 first-round pick could benefit from the fact that the 2025 draft class is considered relatively weak - and as we know, the Canadiens hold the 16th and 17th overall picks.

During his appearance on The Shaun Starr Show podcast, insider Marco D'Amico stated that because of the weakness of this year's draft class, first-round picks may hold less value than usual, and a prospect like Logan Mailloux could actually carry more trade value.

D'Amico also noted that being a right-handed defenseman works in Mailloux's favor, and that he possesses qualities that could attract interest from other NHL teams.

That claim may be hard to believe - especially since the towering right-handed defenseman has yet to break through at the NHL level - but D'Amico remains confident.

If Mailloux is packaged with one of the Canadiens' two first-round picks, we can assume some general managers will be calling Kent Hughes.

In any case, Hughes could use that package in an attempt to land a valuable, established second-line center.
