Canadiens Could Make Similar Trade With Kings as They Did Last Year
The excellent David Pagnotta has just reported a very interesting piece of information regarding the Los Angeles Kings and the trade market.
He sent the 26th overall pick in the 2024 draft, a 2024 second-round pick (57th overall), and a 2024 seventh-round pick.. in exchange for the 21st overall pick!
That pick turned into
Michael Hage, and Kent Hughes was able to make that acquisition because the Kings were open to moving down.
Well, this year, it's exactly the same situation!
David Pagnotta announces that the Los Angeles Kings are once again open to moving down in the draft order: the Montreal Canadiens could strike again
Check out the exact post.
"Add the Los Angeles Kings to the list of teams willing to move down in the first round, as reported by Dooley LAK.
They did it last year, moving down and adding a second and a seventh-round pick (with the Montreal Canadiens).
Could they do it again this week, now with Ken Holland at the helm?"

I have a feeling Kent Hughes is going to call them again.
This year, the Kings hold the 24th overall pick.
Would they be open to moving down to the 41st pick (held by the Montreal Canadiens), allowing the Habs to have three first-round picks?
If I were Kent Hughes, I'd absolutely be open to trading the 41st and 49th picks of 2025, plus a 2026 second-round pick, in exchange for that 24th overall pick from the Kings.
It could be very interesting-and it's definitely a situation to watch closely between now and Friday.
