We once again have waiver action in the National Hockey League today, and indeed, there are three surprises.

Three very interesting names, and three names we really didn't expect to see on waivers today.
Yes, there are quite a few!
In short, there are a few names that catch our attention.

Several players placed on NHL waivers today, including three particularly interesting names for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens

As the Montreal Canadiens hold the sixteenth pick (in waiver priority), note that there are indeed some surprises.
The first is without a doubt Quebec forward Jakob Pelletier.
Pelletier just signed a three (3) year contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning, imagine that, and now he's available on waivers.
Let's just say nobody expected that when he signed..
The 2019 first-round pick of the Calgary Flames recorded 8 points in 25 games with the Philadelphia Flyers last season, plus 19 points in 20 games in the AHL.
Next, we also notice the name Nolan Foote, a first-round pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2019.
The rugged forward put up 39 points in 53 games last season with the New Jersey Devils' farm team, and he has 30 NHL games under his belt.
Foote has an intriguing profile!
Finally, note that Quebec native Samuel Bolduc has also been placed on waivers.
Bolduc, age 24, is a 6'4", 225-pound left-shot defenseman with 52 games of NHL experience already.
By tomorrow, around 2:00 p.m., we'll know which players have been claimed (or not) off NHL waivers.
On the list, we also find a few names familiar to Montreal Canadiens fans, like Kale Clague and William Lagesson.
And speaking of claimed players, also note this:
Things are definitely moving!
