The Sidney Crosby situation continues to generate buzz-not only in Montreal, but across the entire National Hockey League.
Everyone's talking about it, so it's hard to ignore.
Anyway, in the past few hours, NHL player agent David Ettedgui appeared on BPM Sports, and as you might guess, he discussed the Sidney Crosby situation.
More specifically, he talked about what the Montreal Canadiens would need to give up, in terms of players, in exchange for number 87.
David Ettedgui comments on the players the Montreal Canadiens would need to give up in exchange for Sidney Crosby
And he also believes the price wouldn't be that high.
"To get Sidney Crosby, it won't be
Michael Hage or
David Reinbacher (in the deal), it would be a bundle of A- / B+ prospects with draft picks."

Now the question is: who does he consider A- / B+ prospects? But if he's ruling out names like Hage and Reinbacher, that leaves prospects like
Hayden Paupanekis, L.J. Mooney,
Aatos Koivu,
Tyler Thorpe,
Owen Protz,
Florian Xhekaj,
Filip Mesar,
Owen Beck,
Adam Engstrom,
Oliver Kapanen,
Joshua Roy, and so on (along with draft picks).
So that's the tier of prospects Kent Hughes would likely have to dip into.
Sidney Crosby, who will turn 38 in a few days, recorded 91 points in 80 games during the 2024-25 season and has a career total of 1,687 points in 1,352 NHL games.
