Surprise on the NHL Trade Market: the Capitals have just Confirmed that Evgeny Kuznetsov has Requested a Trade
We have a surprise on the trade market.
It's very rare to see this, but the General Manager of the Washington Capitals, Brian MacLellan, has outright announced that his forward Evgeny Kuznetsov has requested a trade.
Clearly, Kuznetsov seems to have played his last game with the Caps.
On this subject, renowned Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet recently mentioned that over the past few weeks, a trade between Washington and Nashville nearly became official.
This is what it would have looked like:
So this gives a good idea of Kuznetsov's current value.
Kuznetsov, 31 years old, is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound center. He scored 55 points last season, and 78 points in 79 games the previous season.
In particular, he was absolutely phenomenal during the 2018 playoffs, earning 32 points in 24 playoff games.
This is a case to follow, but Kuznetsov will clearly be traded soon.
