Negotiated trades involving Cayden Primeau: three major options and a last-minute statement from the renowned Kevin Weekes
It's been nearly a month since the Montreal Canadiens have kept three goalenders in their lineup, in the middle of the NHL regular season, and it will soon be a month since young Cayden Primeau hasn't played games on a regular basis.
This is really not ideal.
Everyone knows that a major decision will eventually have to be made in this case. A waiver? A trade? Something will happen.
Well, on this topic, in the last few minutes, renowned insider Kevin Weekes, who has strong sources, especially concerning goaltenders, mentioned this:
"Curious to see what will happen with the Montreal Canadiens and their three-goalie rotation. It's never easy with three netminders. They have a young goalie, Cayden Primeau, who is only 24 years old and has a lot of potential. He is garnering a lot of interest throughout the league right now."

So, Primeau is currently attracting interest from many NHL teams on the trade market. Interesting.
At least three teams are more serious.
Weekes wouldn't have reported this information if he wasn't convinced that some general managers in the NHL are looking to acquire the young netminder.
There's smoke, anyway!
A big story to follow, and a big story that could be settled sooner rather than later.
