In the last few hours, the highly respected Frank Seravalli has reported major news coming from the Vancouver Canucks.
Their number one priority this summer is to get rid of Conor Garland's contract via trade, much like the Calgary Flames did last summer with Sean Monahan (in a trade with the Montreal Canadiens).
Could Kent Hughes try the same thing again?
Garland is a right winger earning $4.95 million per season until 2026. He's productive, but he's very one-dimensional.
He has amassed:
46 points in 81 games this season
52 points in 77 games in 2022
A pace of 65 points / 82 games in 2021.
If we base it on the Monahan trade, it could certainly cost, at a minimum, a first-round pick for the Canucks to get rid of him.
Would you like Kent Hughes to do it?
To Montreal
Conor Garland
Canucks' 1st round pick
To Vancouver
Future considerations
That could be interesting to explore.
