Major : The Montreal Canadiens have reportedly been eliminated from the race to draft phenom Matvei Michkov, according to a media outlet in his home country
A major piece of information has emerged in the last few minutes, and it concerns Matvei Michkov and the Montreal Canadiens.
All credit goes to Andrew Zadarnowski for the find, it comes from a Russian website.
"The Russian sports news website Championat is adamant that Montreal will not choose Michkov if he is available. They refer to Artyom Telepin, who was the Canadiens' scout in Russia until last season."
They argue that it's a very straightforward case here. Matvei Michkov will never be drafted by the Montreal Canadiens, and they can be ruled out of the race.
