John Tavares Drops a Clue About His Next Team Amid Rumors Linking Him to Montreal

Since the Montreal Canadiens were eliminated, many have suggested John Tavares as a summer acquisition to fill the role of second-line center.
It's become a popular topic of discussion over the past few days.
However, during last night's postgame press conference following the Toronto Maple Leafs' elimination by the Florida Panthers, Tavares was very clear about his intentions.
Unlike a certain Mitch Marner:

Tavares will become an unrestricted free agent (UFA) on July 1.
John Tavares was extremely emotional while giving his post-game remarks. Says he takes responsibility for the team's inability to breakthrough and wants to return:

It's something to watch in the coming weeks, but while Marner spoke like someone who just played his final game in Toronto, Tavares was the complete opposite, he seems ready to make major concessions to return to the Maple Leafs.
It's pretty clear now that we can forget that option, and forget the rumors about him becoming the Canadiens' second-line center.
He just finished a contract that paid him $11 million per year.
