The young goaltender for the Montreal Canadiens, Jakub Dobes, continues to impress me more and more every day.

In addition to having a fantastic start to the season, Dobes continues to prove to everyone that he's a true winner even in defeat...
His post-game comments last night perfectly highlight the passion and determination that makes him so valuable to the team.
His touching interview actually forced an intervention from head coach Martin St-Louis:
Well, Jakub Dobes made another gesture last night that speaks volumes about him.

Jakub Dobes insisted on facing the music and personally showing up before the journalists

It would have been so easy for Dobes to dodge, to go "hide," and not want to talk to the journalists after last night's game (and we would have completely understood), but no!
He personally insisted on facing the music.
"Jakub Dobes broke down during his media session with us after the game. A tough moment to watch. But Dobes wanted to speak - he accepted it himself.

He is extremely competitive and hard on himself."

- Anthony Martineau, TVA Sports
Quite a contrast from some others... (A nod to Ottawa Senators forward Drake Batherson).
Hats off to Jakub Dobes, then!
I just hope he'll be a bit less hard on himself in the future, since he's been incredible for the Montreal Canadiens this season (and let's be honest, he's been incredible for the Canadiens, period, for almost a year now).
