We've just received a last-minute update from the Montreal Canadiens, a sad one involving a member of their coaching staff.
Let's recall that in September 2024, Roger Grillo was hired as a coaching consultant for the Montreal Canadiens and joined Martin St-Louis' coaching staff.
He has made a huge difference for the Canadiens since his hiring - players and experts alike have unanimously agreed on that.
Today, we've learned some very sad news involving Mr. Grillo.

This news has deeply shaken Martin St-Louis, the coaching staff, management, players, and the entire Montreal Canadiens organization.
Grillo never officially held the title of assistant coach for Martin St-Louis and the Montreal Canadiens, but it certainly seemed like he was one.
It's also worth noting that tonight is Hockey Fights Cancer night at the Bell Centre, presented by the Montreal Canadiens, so it's likely to be an especially emotional evening for Martin St-Louis and his players.
I can't believe it, It's so sad, truly the kind of diagnosis no one ever wants to receive.
Our thoughts are with Mr. Grillo, and I sincerely hope he's able to win this battle.
