The NHL Announces Change to the Fourth Goal Scored Last Night in the Canadiens Game
The National Hockey League has indeed announced a correction regarding the fourth goal scored during last night's game in Philadelphia.
For those who missed it, the third goal scored by the Flyers, or the fourth of the game, was ultimately credited to forward
Sean Couturier, who clearly appears to have redirected the puck in front of
Jakub Dobes.
That explains why Dobes was beaten.
A goal ultimately credited to Sean Couturier, against the Montreal Canadiens
This goal was indeed ultimately awarded to Sean Couturier, with assists going to Jakob Pelletier and Matvei Michkov.
"Michkov's second goal has been corrected: goal belongs to Couturier."
Eric Engels, Sportsnet
If this goal had indeed been Michkov's, we probably wouldn't have witnessed the following unusual moment..
In any case, Michkov finished his night with two goals and one assist (3 points) in nearly 21 minutes of ice time, so it's safe to say it was a very solid outing for the young Flyers forward.
Michkov played his first game without John Tortorella, and as you may have noticed, he was used heavily.
