Just hours before the match against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Canadiens' head coach, Martin St-Louis, was at a press conference.
He announced, without any surprise, that
Samuel Montembeault will indeed be in goal for his team and will get the start.
Samuel Montembeault in goal tonight, confirms Martin St-Louis!
It was his turn to play, and moreover, the young
Cayden Primeau unfortunately had a shaky outing in his most recent appearance. (against the Tampa Bay Lightning)
Samuel will therefore have the mission to stop
Auston Matthews and the big guns of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Montembeault, 27, has a record of 15-14-7 this season, a goals-against average of 3.03, and a save percentage of 0.906.
Matthews, 26, has scored 63 goals in 74 games this season, and a total of 99 points. He will try to collect his 100th of the season tonight at the Bell Centre.
