Sharks and Canadiens Linked to Potential Trade That Could Get Completed In September

In recent hours, we told you about the possibility that Carey Price could be traded as early as next September 1.
NHL sources, who spoke with journalist Marco D'Amico, even seemed to believe that this trade is already done (and will be announced on September 1).
Let's just say this.. Don't be really, really surprised if, on September 1, it's announced that Carey Price has been traded.
And now, a team has been identified.
Is Carey Price's contract heading to the San Jose Sharks?
We're talking here about a team that is desperately trying to reach the NHL salary floor and could truly benefit from the No. 31's contract.

"Carey Price's contract after September 1 will be far too attractive for floor teams to resist - $10.5M AAV v. $800K in salary. Nuts. Price will end his career with a different team like the Sharks (unless he signs a one day deal to return to Habs)."
It really seems like that's what's taking shape.
A trade involving Carey Price's contract is clearly in the works, most likely with the San Jose Sharks, and rumor has it Kent Hughes already has other plans for a second trade in September (once Price's contract is moved elsewhere).
To be continued, but we could be in for a very interesting month of September for the Montreal Canadiens.
Carey Price, 37, has played 712 career games in the National Hockey League, all with the Montreal Canadiens, with a 2.51 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage (record of 361-261-79).
