By the end of the season, some interesting reinforcements will be joining the Montreal Canadiens organization. Whether with the Habs or the Laval Rocket, forward Oliver Kapanen is eagerly awaited here.
Anthony Marcotte mentioned he watched Oliver Kapanen play with Timra, and he seems genuinely impressed.
He plays on the first line, is used on the top power-play unit, and clearly has a very important role on his team.
Kapanen is physically solid, and it seems he's added muscle since last year. He now has a good frame for a center.
Oliver Kapanen is becoming quite the prospect for the Montreal Canadiens and will soon arrive as reinforcement to finish the season!
In my opinion, the Canadiens made the right call letting him play the full year in Sweden.
The fact that he was able to develop under Olli Jokinen is a fantastic thing.
He was given major responsibilities, and that's exactly what you want for a young player like him.
Not everyone gets the chance to play top-six minutes and experience playoff pressure in a league like that.
The series against Frolunda is intense. No matter how it ends, I think he's already shown he's ready for the next level.
I truly see Oliver Kapanen arriving in Laval or Montreal and having an immediate impact.
He understands the game, he's solid at both ends of the ice, and he plays with confidence.
I even think he could surprise everyone at the Canadiens' training camp next year.
So it's definitely a possibility to keep in mind as Kapanen's playoff run in Sweden comes to a close.
Reinforcements will be on the way soon!
