Yesterday's announcement from Team USA is still sparking plenty of discussion, not only among Montreal Canadiens observers but also across the entire NHL.

To recap, the American leadership, in preparation for the upcoming Olympic Games, invited sixteen (16) defensemen to their orientation camp, and among these 16 American defensemen, Lane Hutson was not even invited.
It's completely ridiculous that Hutson is not considered among the 16 best American defensemen when he is (according to many) among the 20 best defensemen in the entire National Hockey League.
That said, Cole Caufield was invited as a forward.

The Lane Hutson camp did not take the news well, according to Marco D'Amico

According to what Marco D'Amico revealed on BPM Sports, Hutson did not take the news well.
"They did not take the news well.

I think he will be very motivated.

He's on a mission."

Wow. So Hutson will be on a mission to prove those who constantly doubt him wrong.
You can listen to Marco D'Amico's comments in the video below.
We can't wait to see young Hutson back in action, and even though I fully understand that defensemen like Charlie McAvoy and Quinn Hughes could be chosen ahead of Hutson, I absolutely do not understand why names like Brady Skjei and Luke Hughes were invited before Lane.

Would you trade Lane Hutson for Luke Hughes?
