On BPM Sports, the excellent journalist Marco D'Amico reported some interesting information about Lane Hutson's future with the Montreal Canadiens.
First of all, rest assured, as D'Amico mentioned that Hutson absolutely wants to stay in Montreal.. That matter isn't even up for debate!
He even added that he believes the young defenseman will sign BEFORE the start of the 2025-2026 regular season. Wow.
Lane Hutson has already made his choice: he wants to sign with the Montreal Canadiens and stay here for a very long time
That's excellent news.
So, it's only a simple matter of time before the Habs announce a contract extension for young Hutson.

Last season, the 21-year-old defenseman collected 66 points in 82 regular season games, as well as 5 points in 5 NHL playoff games.
Hutson will be, unless he signs a contract extension before then, a restricted free agent (RFA) next July.
He is becoming one of the best young defensemen in the entire NHL!
