The young Montreal Canadiens forward, Ivan Demidov, is an exceptional player. He's having a fantastic start to the season, wowing fans in every game (if not every shift), and has completely transformed Martin St-Louis' power play.

So, you'd think he feels extremely comfortable on the ice, right?
Well, not quite!
It's hard to imagine how dominant he'll be once he's 100% comfortable out there, but here's what he said in his press conference yesterday
Ivan Demidov today when asked if he's still "adapting" to the NHL:

"I'm not feeling comfortable 100%. I still need to work on little details, the 5v5 game, a lot of aspects of the game, D-zone, offensive zone. A lot of things I should work on."
What an incredible young player. He reminds me so much of Lane Hutson.

Ivan Demidov Will Reunite With a Close Friend Tonight in New Jersey

Another little storyline we wanted to touch on regarding young Demidov - aside from the fact that he admitted he's not yet 100% comfortable - is that tonight's game will be quite special for the Canadiens' number 93.
As we mentioned a lot over the summer and in recent months, Demidov's best friend is Arseni Gritsyuk.
He's a forward for the New Jersey Devils and will be in the lineup tonight!
Here are their lines:
"Noesen - Hughes - Bratt
Meier - Hischier - Mercer
Palat - Glass - Gritsyuk
Cotter - Lammikko - Glendening"
Demidov and Gritsyuk will face each other in the NHL for the very first time tonight!
It'll surely be a special moment for both.
Demidov and his partner even visited New Jersey this summer specifically to spend time with Gritsyuk.
