After his incredible training camp, many experts truly believed that Florian Xhekaj would play with the Canadiens this year.
In the end, Arber's younger brother was sent down to the Laval Rocket, and we all assumed he would take on a bigger role under Pascal Vincent's squad and that his development would kick into a higher gear... but that's not the case right now.
Florian Xhekaj is now back on the Rocket's fourth line, alongside two tough guys.

Here's what the excellent Anthony Marcotte, who knows both Florian Xhekaj and the Laval Rocket extremely well, had to say about it:
"Florian Xhekaj was on the fourth line with Tyler Thorpe and Vincent Arseneau.
In the past, we didn't say anything. It was perfect for Xhekaj. It was a nice surprise to see him play in the American League, to develop him that way.
With a rough guy like Arseneau on his side, it was a fourth line that had a lot of success all year long.
A year later, I went elsewhere in Xhekaj's case. It's not on a fourth line that I want to see him evolve. But we have to say that he's able to draw his own conclusions on a more offensive line. Is he able to play there? Clearly, for Pascal Vincent, that's not the case."
