The Montreal Canadiens have indeed announced a very pleasant surprise on defense, right before facing the New Jersey Devils.
"According to two reliable sources, Kaiden Guhle skated alone and in sweatpants early this morning in Brossard, before the media arrived.
Reminder: Guhle suffered a lower-body injury on October 16 against the Predators, and according to the Canadiens' timeline, he should be back between November 13 and 27 (4 to 6 weeks).
Seeing him skate, even calmly and without equipment, after 3 weeks of absence is positive."

So, it's excellent news to learn that he has already resumed skating.
The Canadiens have good news regarding defenseman Kaiden Guhle
We're really looking forward to seeing him back in Martin St-Louis' lineup.
"Prior to practice, defenseman Kaiden Guhle hit the ice on his own in a track suit for the first time since being sidelined with a lower-body injury. He last played on October 16 against the Nashville Predators."
- Montreal Canadiens
Decision time is approaching!
When Guhle returns, it will be interesting to see what Martin St-Louis decides to do with his defensemen.
He'll have to send either
Arber Xhekaj or
Jayden Struble to the press box, and for now, all signs point to the Sheriff unfortunately being the odd man out.
Kaiden Guhle, 23, is a 6-foot-3, 202-pound left-handed defenseman. He was a first-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens in 2020 (16th overall).
He has two points in five games this season, along with a +1 rating and seven penalty minutes.
"Kaiden Guhle skated in full gear this morning in Brossard."
- Patrick Guillet
