We have a major last-minute announcement from the Montreal Canadiens, and it involves multiple injuries.

In fact, there are four significant updates from the team this Saturday morning - things are heating up in Montreal.
First, please note that forward Owen Beck has been surprisingly recalled from the Laval Rocket.
But why such a recall?

The Canadiens Recall Owen Beck and Announce Three Injuries

That explains it.
We have two injuries to report among the forwards (Patrik Laine and Kirby Dach) and one significant injury to report on defense.
"Kaiden Guhle (lower body, 4 to 6 weeks) and forwards Kirby Dach (lower body, day-to-day) and Patrik Laine (lower body, day-to-day) will not play tonight. Forward Owen Beck has been recalled from the Laval Rocket (emergency recall)."

- Montreal Canadiens

The injuries to Patrik Laine and Kirby Dach are far from ideal, but the one suffered by Kaiden Guhle really hurts the Canadiens.
Owen Beck, 21 years old, is a right-handed centerman standing 6 feet tall and weighing 199 pounds. He has two points in three games this season with the Laval Rocket and recorded 44 points in 64 games last season in the AHL.
In his NHL career (with the Montreal Canadiens), he has one point in 13 games.
One thing's for sure, Martin St-Louis' lineup for today's game against the New York Rangers will look very different from the one that faced the Nashville Predators.
We can therefore assume that young Arber Xhekaj will be back in Martin St-Louis' lineup, which is great news, but let's just say we really would have preferred that the Sheriff didn't return to the lineup simply because of a major injury suffered by Kaiden Guhle.
More than a month without Guhle is really not ideal.
Stay tuned for lineup confirmations ahead of puck drop at the Bell Centre.

Can the Habs still be dominant without Guhle?
