Last night's game was a very important one for several Montreal Canadiens players.

That was the case for Florian Xhekaj, who clearly passed his audition.. It was also the case for Quebec forward Joshua Roy, who had less success with his audition..

Is Joshua Roy's fate already sealed?

Some believe it could be over for Roy, and that his chances of cracking the Canadiens' lineup to start the season evaporated last night.
"Well..whatever chance Roy had to make the lineup is gone with how well Veleno/Florian/Blais played tonight."

- HFTV

It's hard to disagree with that statement.
Joshua Roy had a strong first period, but his engagement and explosiveness completely vanished in the second and third periods.
"He was active along the boards and constantly kept his feet moving. Was strong in offensive zone possession and actively supported his defensemen in the neutral zone.

And then it kind of went away."

- Marco D'Amico
Unfortunately, last night may have been Joshua Roy's last real opportunity, and he was overshadowed by the likes of Florian Xhekaj, Joe Veleno, Sammy Blais, and others.
And you, do you still believe Joshua Roy is in the running for a spot in the Canadiens' lineup this season?
Do you still believe he can become an impact player for the Canadiend one day?
