Exciting News on the Verge of Being Confirmed for Samuel Montembeault
We just had a major announcement regarding Montreal Canadiens goaltender Samuel Montembeault at the 2026 Olympic Games.
We mentioned it to you earlier this week, but Noah Dobson, Nick Suzuki, and Sam Montembeault of the Montreal Canadiens have all been invited to Team Canada's orientation camp, in preparation for the upcoming Olympic Games.
However, there are some Habs players who didn't get the same opportunity.
The event is set for August 26th to 28th.
That said, things are looking very, very good for Montembeault.

The fact that only three goaltenders were invited to Team Canada's orientation camp (Adin Hill, Jordan Binnington, and Montembeault) says a lot.
The full list is right here. All signs point to those being Team Canada's three goaltenders.
According to the excellent Stu Cowan as well, things are looking very good for Montembeault - and for Nick Suzuki too, by the way - but we probably shouldn't expect Noah Dobson to crack Team Canada's final roster.

This is exciting!
This would mark the second time in a row that Montembeault is selected among the top three goaltenders in Canada!
That says a lot, and it's great to see that he's finally starting to be respected for his true value.
