Calder Winner Lane Hutson Surprisingly Snubbed by Team USA Ahead of 2026 Olympics
In the past few hours, the excellent Tony Marinaro announced some sad news for young Lane Hutson. If you ask me, it's completely embarrassing and ridiculous.
Probably due solely to his height, Hutson has been completely ignored by Team USA in preparation for the upcoming Olympic Games.
We're not just talking about him not making the final roster.. It's much worse! Hutson wasn't even invited to the United States' orientation camp.
Ouch..
They didn't even bother to consider him at all, despite the fact that there will likely be more than 15 defensemen at that camp.
It's clearly a huge disappointment for Hutson, who had previously mentioned how important this was to him. Hopefully, he turns that disappointment into major motivation for the upcoming NHL season.
It's sad to see him being overlooked like this, likely only because of his height.

He definitely didn't receive the same news as some of his teammates..
We're really disappointed for Hutson. At the very least, he truly deserved an invite to the orientation camp.

This is a decision that's bound to stir plenty of debate..
