Following the minor altercation between the two young Montreal Canadiens forwards at the WJSS, Michael Hage and Aatos Koivu have broken their silence.
That said, as many suspected, what happened on the ice (between Hage and Koivu) stays on the ice.
The two young men remain on very good terms.
Personally, I love seeing that kind of intensity, even between two friends. It simply shows their competitive edge on the ice.
Aatos Koivu Breaks Silence After Minor Altercation with Michael Hage
Here's the core of what he had to say.
Aatos Koivu on fellow Habs prospect Michael Hage:
"At the (Habs) development camp, we were roommates, we were really good friends.. He got a good hit on me, kinda lit me up, so I got a little bit mad and started chirping him back..We're good buddies and it's nothing personal."
And there you have it! We love it!
Check out the two good friends in action:
Hage is, of course, a 1st-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens in 2024 (21st overall), while Koivu was a 3rd-round pick by the Canadiens in 2024 (70th overall).
Hage, 19 years old, is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound forward who recorded 34 points in 33 games last season in the NCAA.
Koivu, also 19 years old, is a 6-foot, 163-pound forward who posted 8 points in 31 games last season in Finland's top league.
