I don't understand why this isn't making more headlines with the Montreal Canadiens.
We talked about it and reported it yesterday, but I just listened to the episode of the podcast by the renowned Elliotte Friedman from Sportsnet, and the best-informed insider in the NHL has indeed clearly stated the following:
"It seems that the Montreal Canadiens are hopeful that this will work out.
Obviously, they have done everything to make it work."
- Elliotte Friedman, on the possible arrival of
Ivan Demidov as early as this season.
If they succeed and he comes to finish the year in Montreal, it would be huge for Martin St-Louis' squad.
Kent Hughes is doing everything in his power to add Ivan Demidov to Martin St-Louis' lineup this season
Many of you have commented that his contract ends on May 31, which is true, but the Canadiens could reach an agreement with SKA as soon as the KHL season ends.
Why keep Demidov there once the season and playoffs are over?
It would serve no purpose for SKA, except to harm the young player and the Canadiens.
Rest assured, we will keep you updated on every development in this case, because personally, I believe in it.
Let's remember that in 2019, SKA reached an agreement with the Columbus Blue Jackets to allow
Vladislav Gavrikov to finish the season in the NHL.
Will they do the same with Demidov and the Canadiens?
Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton are certainly working hard on it!
On that note, SKA has once again demoted Demidov to their fourth line for today's game, which is ridiculous.
