As we reported in the last few minutes, the Montreal Canadiens have traded defenseman Brett Kulak to the Edmonton Oilers.
In exchange, according to David Pagnotta, Kent Hughes managed to get his hands on a second round pick.
Bob McKenzie adds that young
William Lagesson is involved and is headed to Montreal.
Lagesson, 26, is a defenseman with 4 points in 30 games this season in Edmonton (+1 rating). He also had 2 points in 11 games in the AHL this year.
Remember that in a press conference earlier this week, the CH GM mentioned that he was perfectly comfortable with the idea of keeping Kulak and extending his contract, if he doesn't get a good price in exchange.
Obviously, he got a good price. (especially considering Justin Braun was traded for a 3rd round pick)
Kulak, 28, has 13 points in 56 games this season with the Habs (and 8 points in 46 games last season). He is originally from Edmonton, Alberta.
