The Habs practiced on Thursday morning, but two players were not on the ice: Sami Niku and Brendan Gallagher. The two soldiers were subjected to the COVID-19 protocol of the National Hockey League!

According to Marc-Andre Perreault, who has been on the Montreal Canadiens' beat for the past eight years, Gallagher and Niku tested positive last night. "Gally" was briefly seen in Brossard this morning, but no one has seen Niku.
For the moment, these are the only details about the two players...
That being said, with Gallagher out, Mathieu Perreault found himself to be one of the forwards for Thursday night's matchup against the Colorado Avalanche.
As for the combinations, Perreault was on the 4th unit, Joel Armia was on the 3rd to replace Gallagher, and Michael Pezzetta was on the left side of the 4th. Note that the Drouin-Poehling duo was not dismantled, while in the case of Nick Suzuki, he saw Artturi Lehkonen and Jake Evans on his wings.
Defensively, it's hard to juggle the current roster, let's face it. In front of the net, Jake Allen will be on duty to face Nathan Mackinnon and his crew.
