Shane Wright is relegated to a rather awkward role in Seattle and it's getting embarrassing

Earlier today, the Seattle Kraken held their morning practice, and young Shane Wright was used as a placeholder, a rather awkward role for a professional hockey player.

Left out by his head coach for several games, Wright was just used as a placeholder for a practice, imagine that.

It's a decision that has fans up in arms (again).

For example, Wright was used on the power play in drills to practice with his teammates on the power play. (He is used to coach his teammates)

This is far from ideal for his development. It also means he's going to stay in the stands and not be used in games.

Basically, Wright has literally gone from "likely first overall pick" to "player who is used to fill in for injured players in practice and spends all his games in the stands."

Let's just say he's far from having a role with the Kraken. See the trios in question:

Wright*-Wennberg-Sprong*

McCann-Beniers-Eberle

Tanev-Gourde-Bjorkstrand

Donato-Geekie-Kuhlman

Dunn-Larsson

Soucy-Schultz

Olofsson-Borgen

Fleury

Grubauer/Jones/Hellberg

It is indeed noticeable that Wright was warming up for teammate Jaden Schwartz, who received treatment.

Do you think at this point the Kraken would be better off sending Shane Wright to junior so he can play hockey for real? And so that he can feel important on a team?

Frustration continues to mount on this issue.
