Martin St-Louis blatantly takes shots at the Blackhawks

One of the things we like most about Habs head coach Martin St-Louis since his arrival behind the bench is that he rarely hides from the press, saying what he thinks most of the time.

This week, he talked about Kirby Dach and sent an arrow straight to the Chicago Blackhawks.

"If you give up on a 21-year-old player, in hockey or anything in life, you don't have a lot of patience. You don't have the full picture at that age. He's so young, Kirby is a 3rd overall pick in 2019. What am I seeing? I see the 3rd overall pick. He has undeniable strengths like his size and range." - Martin St. Louis

Coach doesn't understand the Hawks' impatience with #77 and I have to admit, neither do I. Plus, prior to the 2021 World Junior Championship, Dach suffered a very serious wrist fracture during a prep game that took a long time to heal and caused him to miss almost a full season of his development.

Also, Chicago was on a big downward slope last year, with an extremely difficult season for everyone, it didn't help Dach's progress at all with his return from injury.

Clearly, the change in management had something to do with it, as the new GM had no connection with the 21 year old forward. This probably facilitated his early departure, after only three years with the organization that drafted him third overall in 2019.

However, we will not complain about it at the Tricolore, because we made a very nice acquisition with him.
