A special sequence involving St-Louis and Dadonov was captured on the CH bench, and it is making the rounds on the web
During the New Jersey Devils-Montreal Canadiens duel, immediately after Evgenii Dadonov scored his long-awaited first goal in a Tricolore uniform, reporter Marc-Andre Perreault caught a perfect sequence from the Montreal bench.
Watch the interaction between Martin St-Louis and Dadonov:There is a nice exchange between St-Louis and Dadonov, most likely related to the goal the latter had just scored.
After the game, Martin only mentioned that he was extremely happy for his player.
A smile that speaks volumes.
We're almost used to seeing things like this, but it's important to remember that it's extremely rare to see sequences like this involving an NHL head coach. For example, it's not a guy like John Tortorella who would have done this, no offense to him!
St-Louis took the time to go see Dadonov, congratulate him, chat with him, encourage him and have a few laughs with him. That must have done him a world of good, especially coming from his coach.
Nice gesture from the CH head coach! We love it! It may not seem like a big deal, but for the players, it's far from it.
