There's the 3rd overall pick in the 2005 draft, Jack Johnson, whose parents stole millions from him, Andrew Cogliano and Erik Johnson to name a few because the list goes on. But Nazem Kadri's redemption story is as sweet as any of the previous ones. Billed as the black cat of the playoffs, he had a message for his detractors on Sunday night:
A simple but effective message.
After many thought he was more of a nuisance to his team come playoff time, he has proven to be a huge contributor to Colorado's Stanley Cup run. With his 15 points in 16 playoff games, his outstanding two-way work, combined with his aggressive play, he propelled the Avalanche to the top of the mountain. That's not to mention his huge overtime winning goal in Game 4.
He is now a Stanley Cup champion, and no one can take that away from him!
