So far, so good, but he is still out of the lineup. He has missed several games this season due to Martin St-Louis' decisions, and he is on track to be left out again for today's game.
That would make him six games played (out of 10), but despite this difficult situation for him, he is keeping his head up and that is a credit to him.
Many rumors were circulating, some said he was frustrated with the situation, but on the contrary. Yesterday, Drouin spoke out about the situation and showed that despite everything, his attitude is absolutely exemplary:
As reporter Jonathan Bernier mentions, it's nice to see him take this nice maturity.
Remember that in his rookie season, after being left out for 12 games in his first steps in the Tampa Bay Lightning organization, he refused to report to the Syracuse Crunch and he didn't necessarily have the right attitude.
Today, Drouin doesn't have that same attitude at all and he is now much better equipped to deal with such decisions. He also says that he appreciates the constant communication with Martin St-Louis.
He wants to take the positives out of everything:
We love it! He has the right attitude, and that's so important. It makes all the difference.
It must be said that the removal of Jonathan Drouin from the lineup is not 100% his fault, as Martin St-Louis is currently juggling a huge surplus of NHL caliber forwards.
With many teams, Drouin wouldn't have to jump like this, but still, he sees things positively and he clearly has the right attitude to bounce back stronger.
That's really encouraging in his case and it's a credit to him.
