It's over for Dominique Ducharme

For the past few months, I have been regularly changing my mind about Dominique Ducharme. I change my mind as much as I change my pants, that's saying something. I'm talking about it via our latest "Dans le carnet"podcast, available right here:

That said, with what we saw yesterday in practice, which was the non-chalance of the players when Dominique Ducharme whistled to bring them close to him to explain the next drill, too many players were dragging their boots. This type of situation proves, without the shadow of a doubt, that respect is disappearing more and more.

On top of that, his inexperience in the NHL is guiding him to the door, unfortunately. He mismanaged the «mourning» of his troops following the elimination in the Stanley Cup final last summer. In addition, the losses of Weber, Price, Edmundson, Perry and Staal took some big support away from him. Who now helps him in that locker room?

Add to this the fact that Ducharme is not the man of Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes, so it will be easier for them to replace him. It's true, Jon Cooper or Rod Brind'Amour might not have won this edition either, but the commitment would certainly have been different!

Sadly, the rookie head coach will most likely lose his position following this disastrous season. The saddest thing is that because of this season, it is very likely that he will not be seen again in the NHL...
