If Geoff Molson had imagined the worst scenario following his team's participation in the last Stanley Cup Final, it is probably not as bad as the current situation the Canadiens are in. The team has won only four games in 19 and has only ten points in the standings. This puts the CH in 29th place in the entire Bettman circuit.
Despite Dominique Ducharme and his players' repeated appearances before the media to try to explain what is going on with the Habs, the owner, president and CEO of the team is not showing any signs of life and is staying away from the microphones and cameras.
His most recent appearance was at the inauguration of the 12th rink of the Blue, White, Red program in Val-d'Or earlier this week. However, we don't need to tell you that the Tricolore organization kept his presence a secret.
During the most recent unveiling of Patrick Roy's wall on Friday, it was instead France Margaret Bélanger, President of sports and entertainment for the CH group, who was sent into the fray. Reporters still took a chance and asked a question about Marc Bergevin's future with the CH.
"I'm mainly concerned with the business side of things. But, at the moment, there is nothing to announce. When there is, you will be the first to know."
"If you don't see him [Mr. Molson], it means he has no more to say than I'm telling you. That means it's status quo until further notice!"
In short, there have been rosier days in this organization and we don't seem to be out of the woods! Fans will have to be patient!
