Marc Bergevin is no longer the general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, he who spent almost ten years in a very hot seat. "Berg" says he is leaving without any hard feelings, but personally, I find it hard to believe that this is really the case, especially with the way Geoff Molson has handled this situation.
In fact, Louis Jean has provided further evidence that the relationship between the two men was most likely frayed. According to Jean's report, Bergevin turned down an ungenerous offer from Molson in September that was take it or leave it...
So, since September, the two men are aware that it's over, but do not act? We now understand "why" Bergevin took the heat without the support of Molson and he seemed already elsewhere. But I still don't understand why Molson stayed so well hidden!
Anyway, the page has been turned and a new man will soon step into the chair left vacant by Marc Bergevin, a man of heart who painted a beautiful picture during his time with the team.
