The broom was passed for the Montreal Canadiens. Marc Bergevin, Trevor Timmins and Paul Wilson are out, while Jeff Gorton is now in the President of Hockey Operations seat.
For now, Gorton is not in Montreal, but that doesn't stop a half-dozen candidates from standing in front of the gate. That list could even grow in the next few days, by the time Gorton arrives on Tuesday or Wednesday.
According to what has been circulating for the past few hours, Mathieu Darche would be a very serious candidate for this position, which is more difficult to fill then the one of Premier of Quebec.
In short, rumors will abound between now and the hiring of the next individual who will rebuild a team clearly suffocated by several situations that are pulling juice. Stay tuned!
By the way, personally, I'm convinced that the "poop" starts with the selection of Logan Mailloux at the last NHL Entry Draft... We're talking here!
