After the very big revelation about the new expansion teams coming to the National Hockey League, now reporter Chris Johnston has revealed a new and very interesting piece of information.

"The Edmonton Oilers will host the famous Heritage Classic outdoor game in 2023, and their opponents could be the Montreal Canadiens." - Chris Johnston

The Montreal Canadiens could be affected by this announcement.

Let's remember here that this matchup will mark 20 years since the first ever Heritage Classic, which was once played between the Habs and Oilers. (the game with the famous toque installed on Jose Theodore's helmet)

It would indeed be a nice nod from the NHL to announce that this will be a Montreal-Edmonton duel.

But for now, Gary Bettman's announcement simply mentions that the Oilers will host the outdoor game of the Heritage Classic in 2023.

More details to follow!

It would be quite a show if the CH is indeed chosen by this announcement.
